CraftBlog: Update 008, Upgrades of 3 Previous Designs

Front Page of CraftBlog UpdatePost 008 by ChameleonStar
Hi, craft lovers!
This is my 8th update post on the studio.

I'm ready to show the updates on my older designs called Gisela, Angelika and Eloise. I made my first introduction to them in the Update #003 post. For now they have reached their almost final outlooks, however I do still plan to add some minor details into design later on.

And since at the moment I've finished with the work on Gisela, Angelika and Eloise crochet zipper pouches/clutch bags, now I can go back to working on my newest projects~

Gisela Crochet Zipper Pouch/Clutch Bag

Since I didn't want to make a lot of decoration of this design, like I usually do with other projects, I just sewed a zipper in and added a yellow lining for this work.

She looks gorgeous with her crazy colors, and I definitely look forward to working with this yarn again as it feels amazing to the touch and looks astonishing with its melange palette~

It was a quick and joyful work and I'm proud of this project, as it really looks nice in any home interior.

Eloise Crochet Zipper Pouch/Clutch Bag

Just as I planned before, I made some additional stitches on the top of the project which made it a bit larger. I used milky color yarn for the top and did some rounding on the edges; that made it more softer.

With the same milky yarn I made a tassel and put it on the zipper. I think white color harmonized the overall design and now it looks cozy and homey as I wanted it to be in the first place~

Angelika Crochet Zipper Pouch/Clutch Bag

With Angelika I made the biggest amount of changes of all three designs I'm showing you today.

I added additional height to the top just as with Eloise, but with Angelika I used a prime gray color for that. I added some ruffles on the sides and changed the location of the beads on the bows.

The bright yellow plays out amazingly on the gray bag body and I really love the ruffles~ This design has a lot of texture because of the stitch I used and it gave the project an elegant sophisticated look, which I enjoy immensely.

That is it for now, folks!

Keep your mind sharp and have peaceful thoughts everyone!
Have a fantastic bag day!

Sizes and Types of Crochet Hooks

If you’re just learning how to crochet, it's obvious you'd want to know about sizes and types of crochet hooks. Until you've worked with crochet hooks for a while, you won’t know which you prefer better, that is why you should experiment and buy at least a couple of them. Also, below you can find Crochet Hook Conversion Chart to help you out when you don't know which yarn to use with which hook size. A crochet hook has a slender handle with a hook at one (or sometimes both) ends. It is used to pull thread or yarn through loops to create crochet stitches. Materials, sizes and handles can be very different. Each kind has its own benefits and disadvantages; it all depends on the comfort, price and the ease of use. A crochet hook can also be used to pick up dropped knitting stitches, thread beads onto string or create hairpin lace. The crochet needles vary from small to larger sizes; each needle works with different weights of yarn. And just like with a knitting ...

CraftBlog: Update 009, 3 New Crochet Zipper Pouches

Hi, craft lovers! This is my 9th update post on the studio. All of the projects are doing great and there's been a lot of work done. I finished decorating some of my previous designs, started a couple new ones and did a lot of lining work for my previous projects.  Today I want to share 3 new crochet projects in their finished look. Their names are Ariete, Luna and LĂ©onie. All of them have quite a sweet and soft touch, and they were all inspired by warm spring thematics. Ariete Crochet Zipper Pouch/Clutch Bag The design was inspired by the blooming of spring flowers and I wanted to add a bit of cool freshness to the whole picture. The clutch design was made in hope to bring some white floral elegance into everyday life. The body of the clutch is quite simple and most of the work was focused on decoration. I wanted to try out some 2-side colors ideas for some time now and am very happy about it coming alive like that~ I chose royal blue color for one side and the borders and crepe ...

CraftBlog: Update 007, Upgrades of 3 Previous Designs

Hi, craft lovers! This is my 7th update post on the studio. I finished with the work on Imelda, Milda and Drew crochet zipper pouches/clutch bags ( which were first introduced in Update #002 ), and also made a pair of fingerless gloves for myself, which I love and sometimes wear when working on the computer. I'll share with you photos of my new gloves at the end of this post. Drew Crochet Zipper Pouch/Clutch Bag I used a lot of beads to finish Drew, and now it looks more happier-go-lucky than I first intended, but, hey! -- a happy look is just what is needed during dark times. I design my projects so that the finished look would give out a cheerful, comforting and delighting feeling to light up the mood. And with Drew, personally, I think I've managed to do so. I love her joyful exterior and light colors; and especially bright yellow tassels~ It was a pleasure working with Drew, and I want to make other copies of her in different colors to see how it will play out with differe...
